William C. McCormick, 87, of Kentland, died at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, August 12, 2010 at George Ade Memorial Health Care in Brook, Indiana. He was born May 1, 1923 in Benton County to the late William J. McCormick and Loretta Benner McCormick Brown. He graduated from Earl Park High School. His marriage was to Mary Lou Tarr in 1966 in Newton County. He worked the Kentland post for 39 years, and also sold farm insurance during that time. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kentland, Knights of Columbus, and The Lion's Club. He enjoyed sports, and kept book for Cassidy's softball team. Surviving with his wife are two sons, William J. McCormick (companion: Michelle) and Rex McCormick (wife: Joann) both of Kentland, and a sister Frances Williams of Fowler. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. CDT Monday, August 16, 2010 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home in Kentland. Funeral Service 11:00 CDT Tuesday, August 17, 2010 also at the funeral home, with Father Robert Bernotas officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Kentland.
