Patricia A. (White) Williamson, 57, of Peru, died at 2:07 a.m. Sunday, April 11, 2010 at St. Mary's Healthcare, Lafayette. She had been battling cancer for the last two years. She was born November 2, 1952 in Tallassee, Alabama to George White and the late Sellie (Johnson) White. She was a 1970 graduate of Peru High School. Her marriage was to Abie Perkins Sr. in 1970 in Peru. They later divorced. Mrs. Williamson was an accomplished waitress at several restaurants in Peru. She loved serving and interacting with her customers. Most recently she worked for Trelleborg Manufacturing as a press operator until her health began to fail. She was a former member of the Way of Holiness Church in Peru and enjoyed doing church work. She also liked traveling and watching television. Surviving are two sons, Abie Perkins Jr. (wife: Lisa) of Indio, California and Adrian Perkins of Muncie and four brothers, John White (wife: Joyce) of Peru, George J. White (wife: Pam) of Lafayette, Wesley White (companion: Jackie) of Knoxville, TN and Samuel White (wife: Karie) of Indianapolis. Patty loved spending time with her family, especially her sons and her 3 grandchildren. Preceding her in death with her mother is a sister, Nellie Andino. A gathering of friends in the Lafayette area will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from 6-7 p.m. in the chapel at St. Mary's Healthcare (2201 Cason St. Lafayette, Indiana 47904). A gathering will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. with a celebration of life at 6:30 p.m. at Wayman AME Church, 201 East 3rd Street, Peru. Private interment will occur at Everest Memorial Park in Logansport. Memorials may be made in her name to the Community Cancer Network.
