Robert Howe, 73, of West Lafayette, died on August 18, 2009 at 2:03 a.m. at the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette. Born on October 31, 1935 in Medaryville, he was the son of the late Charles and Alma Hess Howe. He attended Medaryville High School. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Air Force. His marriage was to Sheila DeWeese on April 25, 1959. She survives. He worked in the maintenance department at Purdue University and as a meat cutter in Cook, Minnesota. Mr. Howe enjoyed watching sports on television, fishing and hunting. Surviving with his wife are two sons, Fred Howe (wife: Anita) of Richmond, Virginia and Bobby Howe of Cook, Minnesota; two sisters, Sue Risner (husband: Ralph) of North Judson and Betty Hilton of Medaryville. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are two children, Tony Howe and Cindy Howe. Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston is entrusted with care.
