James W. Klepinger, Jr., 59, of Battle Ground, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 1:07 a.m. in Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. Born September 11, 1949 in Lafayette, he was the son of the late James Klepinger Sr. and Ruby Pitman Klepinger. He attended Battle Ground schools. James was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Army from 1969-1973. Mr. Klepinger was a mechanic at Bill DeFouw Chevrolet for 10 years and Platts Auto Electric for 10 years. Surviving are his siblings, Richard Shipley Sr. (wife: Catherine) of Ben Wheeler, Texas; Beverly Potts of Lafayette; Susan Crawford (husband: Danny) of West Lafayette; Thomas Klepinger (wife: Kathy) of Lafayette and Janet Dulin (husband: Merle) of Brookston. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death with his parents is a sister, Patty Shipley.
