Kara L. Rice Collier, 31, of Delphi, died Wednesday, December 17th at 11:35 p.m. in Home Hospital. She had battled cancer for the past 8 years. She was born on April 26, 1977 in Kileen, Texas to Clayton and Katrina Rice. Kara attended Delphi Community High School. She married William David Collier on May 28, 1994 in Evergreen Wesleyan Church in Lafayette. He survives. Kara worked at a nursing home in Monticello before diagnosed with cancer and was a homemaker. She enjoyed floats on the river, gardening, shopping, spending time with her family, and most recently enjoyed a trip to Disney with her kids thanks to Melinda Bond. She is survived by her children, William, Shyan, and Emily at home; her parents, Clayton and Katrina Rice of Delphi; a sister, Misty Rice (companion: Justin) of Delphi; in-laws, William and Linda Collier of Monticello; maternal grandparents, Charles and Margaret Fugate of Lafayette; paternal grandmother, Ruth Kauffman (husband: Morris) of Thorntown; paternal grandfather, Tony Rice (wife: Linda) of Kentucky; and a niece, Alexis Dicks.
