Jean R. Elliott, 87, of Lafayette, formerly of Oak Park, Michigan, died at 8:33 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2008 in Regency Place of Lafayette. She had been under their care for the last two years. She was born January 23, 1921 in Michigan City to the late Owen & Nelle (Cole)Reed. She graduated high school in Michigan City and then earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan. Her marriage was to Jackson W. Elliott in 1957 in Detroit. He died in November of 1973. Mrs. Elliott worked at Detroit Receiving Hospital, Detroit General Hospital and University Health Center for her entire working career as a Medical Technologist and retired as Lab Supervisor. She enjoyed cooking, reading, theater and playing bridge. Surviving is her son, Peter Elliott (wife: Lynne) of Lafayette. Jean loved spending time with her family, especially her three grandsons,Daniel, Douglas and Dustin. She liked sailing with her late brother, George Reed.
