Hildur Mary Neal, 88, of West Lafayette, died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2008 in Westminster Village Nursing Center, West Lafayette. She and her husband, J.B., moved to West Lafayette in 2002 to be near their son. She was born June 9, 1919 in Elizabethtown, New Jersey to the late Albert and Adelaide (Keiper) Derhamer. She was a graduate of Trenton Teachers College and earned her Master's degree in Elementary Education from Marshall University. Her marriage was to Jewel "J.B." Neal in New Jersey in 1946. He died March 20, 2008. Mrs. Neal taught school for thirty years at Kenova Elementary School in Kenova, West Virginia. She was a member of the Kenova United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school. Surviving are a son, Jonathan Neal (wife: Susan Schechter)) of West Lafayette and a daughter, Sarah Neal-Fujimoto of Honolulu, Hawaii. Also surviving are her four grandchildren, Adi and Zoe Neal and Lindsay and Allison Fujimoto.
