Jan M. Harmon, Jr.  “JJ”, 50, of Monticello, Indiana formally of Clinton County passed away January 12, 2024 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  

Jan was born June 3, 1973 to Jan M. Harmon, Sr. and Glenda Smart Harmon at Tipton County Hospital.  

He was a 1992 graduate of Clinton Central High School.  He loved playing basketball, football, riding his Harley Davidson, and thoroughbred racehorses.  “What about Millie” and “Son of a Beacher” were just a couple.  Most of all, he loved farming with his Grandpa Beach.  Jan worked heavy construction and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union 103.  

At the age of 5 he moved from Frankfort, Indiana to the farm in rural Kirklin, Indiana.  Jan was raised by his grandparents Beach N. Harmon and Mildred “Millie” Harmon.  

Jan is survived by his two Great Danes: Annie and Sassy; one daughter, Victoria L. Harmon of Muncie, Indiana; his parents: Jan M. Harmon, Sr. (Betty) of Frankfort, Indiana, and Glenda Smart Harmon of Indianapolis, Indiana; and a half brother Blake Harmon.  

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, and maternal grandparents.  

To all the friends, neighbors and co-workers in the past year and a half, God Bless all of you that stood by him on this journey.  

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.  at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home in Monticello, Indiana.  A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home.  Dr. David Aronoff will be officiating.  Memorial Donations may be made to:  American Legion Post 81 in memory of Jan.   Miller-Roscka Funeral Home is honored to be handling the arrangements.
