Jean Marguerite Zehner, 90, Lenexa, Kansas (formerly of Monticello, Indiana), passed away at 12:02 a.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Sunrise of Lenexa Assisted Living in Lenexa, Kansas.

She was born on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1931, in Plymouth, Indiana, to the late Hillis and Edna (Casper) Rhoades, then later adopted along with two sisters by Hershel Tracy. She married Arthur W. Zehner on May 20, 1951; he passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2005.  Together they had four children, Lynette (husband John) Peters, Venice, Florida, Todd (Claire) Zehner, Shawnee, Kansas., and Michael Zehner, Wichita, Kansas; six grandchildren, Angela (husband Mark) Toney of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jarred Scifert, Navy USS Ronald Reagan, Grant (wife Erin) Zehner of Overland Park, Kansas, Tye Zehner of Kansas City, Missouri, Adam Zehner of Wichita, Kanss, and Arie Zehner of Wichita, Kansas; seven great grandchildren, Adaline, Garrett, and Gavin Toney, Aalon and Rowan Zehner, and Amelia and Charlotte Zehner.

Jean attended Guernsey Church of the Brethren of rural Monticello, Indiana, for fifty (50) years participating and serving on Women's Fellowship, Church Council, and loved helping with the annual Ham and Bean Supper fundraiser. Family was always her focus however she did spend time working outside the home at the White County Courthouse, and as a secretary at Woodlawn Elementary School. In her later years she volunteered at the White County Food Pantry. She loved playing cards, Euchre being her favorite, and teaching her grandchildren and others all kinds of games. Sending greeting cards was also a passion.

A Simple Private Family Service is being planned. 

She will rest at Pike Creek Cemetery in rural Monticello, Indiana, united with husband Art Zehner.
