Pennie had lived in the Monticello, Indiana, community for the last several years, coming from Toledo, Ohio. She was the secretary for the superintendent of the MSD Lawrence Schools in Toledo, Ohio, for thirteen (13) years. Pennie was a member of the New Hope Lutheran Church of Monticello, Indiana.
