Douglas “Ron” Chancellor, 73, of Kentland, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at his residence.

He was born June 4, 1945 in Brook, IN to the late George and Geneva (Mowery) Chancellor. Ron was a 1964 graduate of A.J. Kent High school of Kentland. He was a Vietnam veteran and served in the United States Army.

His marriage was to Patricia Cambel, they later divorced. Patricia resides in Arizona.  Ron lived in Cape Canaveral, FL for several years before returning to Kentland. He was a member of American Legion Post 23. Ron was a chief engineer working mostly on large cruise ships and cargo ships.

He enjoyed spending his time traveling as work took him all over the world. Ron also enjoyed dinning at Hooters restaurants, and fishing when able.

Ron is survived by his son, Russell Chancellor of Lake Village; step-children, Becky (husband: Tim) Norder of AZ, and Daniel (Elizabeth Ristow) Muller of Goodwine, IL; siblings, Bob Chancellor of Pensacola, FL, Mary (husband: John) Luchtman of Roselawn, IN, and Sue Bretzinger of Rochester, IN. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kelsey Chancellor, Kris Burnside, and Kyson Chancellor.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, George and Geneva Chancellor.
