Margaret “Jeannie” Brewster, a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, passed away at 9:18 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Community South Hospital of Indianapolis.

She was born October 11, 1929 in Indianapolis to the late John D. and Lettie (Oder) Henderson and was a 1947 graduate of Warren Central High School.

Her marriage of 67 years was to Jim Brewster on March 18, 1950 in Garfield Park Church of Christ, Indianapolis; he survives.

Jeannie was a member of the Garfield Park Community Church (formerly Garfield Park United Church of Christ) Women’s guild and the Red Hat group.

Mrs. Brewster was a wonderful homemaker and personified grace and dignity. She treated everyone with kindness. She worked as a sales representative for the RCA/ BMG companies in direct mail of cd albums through the mail for 18 ½ years.

Jeannie liked traveling, reading and to re-do furniture. Above all she loved spending time with her family and friends. We will remember her for her passion for adventure and generosity for anyone who came in her path. She left a lasting mark on all those who knew her and will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Her loved ones will cherish the time they shared with her and the knowledge that whatever else happened “Jeannie was always right”.

Surviving with her husband Jim is a son, Doug Brewster (wife: Sheryl) of Land O Lakes, FL; a daughter, Suzie Jacobson (husband: Jay) of Aspen, CO; a former son-in-law, Dr. Robert Fisher of Memphis, TN and three brothers, John R. Henderson (wife: Pat) of Indianapolis, Ron Henderson and Kenny Henderson both of California. Jeannie cherished her grandchildren, Matt, Mark, Dave, Julie, Tyler, Matt, Ashton, Taylor, Cayla and Max and her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth.

Preceding her in death with her parents is a brother, Jack and a sister, Beverly.

Friends may call from 4 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Garfield Park Community Church (743 East Pleasant Run Parkway, South Drive, Indianapolis, IN). Funeral service there 10 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018; Pastor Mark Radke to officiate. Entombment to follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Humane Society of Indianapolis.
