Catherine Loraine Stiers, 88, of West Lafayette, formerly of Chalmers, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus of West Lafayette.

She was born February 19, 1929 in Chalmers to the late William A. and Catherine E. (Danner) Strantz. She was a graduate of Chalmers High School.

Her marriage was to Bernard P. Stiers on August 30, 1947 in Lafayette. He preceded her in death in August of 1991.

Catherine was member of the Chalmers Community Church and American Legion Auxiliary Post 268. She worked as a desk clerk for Duncan Electric and later Landis & Gyr until her retirement.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Kay Stiers of Dallas, TX, Richard Bernard Stiers of Chicago, IL, Linda Jo Stiers of Brandon, FL, and Elizabeth Loraine Stiers of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 3 grand dogs, 1 great-grandchild, and 4 great-grand dogs.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday June 19, 2017, 3 PM (EST) at Chalmers Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chalmers Community Church in Catherine’s name.
