Shan McDannel, 46, of Kentland, passed away at 3:27 PM, Monday, October 3, 2016 at IU Health Hospital of Lafayette. He was born October 23, 1969 in Colorado Springs, CO to the late Richard E. McDannel and Doris (Utsler) Cronkhite.

His marriage was to Debra Newman on October 4, 2001 at the Newton County Court House in Kentland. She survives.

Shan enjoyed spending his time woodworking, cabinetry, gaming online, fishing, watching football and racing, and most of all, taking care of his children.

Surviving along with his wife are children, Alexis McDannel, and Allyssa McDannel both of Kentland; siblings, Jerry Butler of Dayton, IN, Gena Stalford of Lowell, OH, Michele (Rex) Halsema of Monticello, IN, Rebecca (Mike) Robers of Logan, OH, Marta (J.R.) Scott of Sheldon, IL, Rhonda Nally of Greencastle, IN, Johnna (Stephen) Stafford of Indianapolis, IN, and John Cronkhite of Monticello, IN.

Friends may call from 12 PM (Noon) (CST) until the time of Memorial Service 1 PM (CST) Friday, October 7, 2016 at Newton County Baptist Church. Rev. Bill Paisley to officiate.
