Elaine Marie Collins 51, of West Lafayette, joined the Lord on Thursday at 12:15 a.m. after a brief battle with cancer. Ever the fighter she went down swinging and at peace. Born Princess Elaine Bowsher she was born September 3, 1964 in Miami, Florida to Alva June Foust.

Elaine loved doing puzzle books, watching her beloved Steelers, taking care of her cats, enjoying her many friends (who were there until the end) working at the ice cream store at the Eye Opener Cafe, playing skip bo and too many other wonderful things to list.

Surviving are a brother, Sammy Crosser of Frankfort and a sister, Kathy Culley of Lafayette and three uncles, Kerry Foust of Lafayette, Russell Foust of Indianapolis and Sam Neff of Delphi. Also surviving are Curtis and Tabitha Jarrard of Lafayette. Preceding her in death is a sister, Cathy Altepeter.

Elaine was loved by many but had several special friends that helped with her care over the years; those friends are Cathy Dale, Stephanie Bailey, Marialice Mahoney, Melody Stewart, Tina McCoy, Fran Sanchez and Donna McMahon.

Friends may call Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 5p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7 p.m. at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston; Pastor Mary Hartman to officiate.
