Dorothy Thacker, 101, of Indianapolis, formerly of Monon, died on November 15 at Rittenhouse Senior Living in Indianapolis. She was born on January 23, 1914 in St. Louis, Missouri and married Don Thacker of Monon, Indiana in 1936. They moved to Monon in 1947 and Indianapolis in 1966. She is survived by daughters Dona Davidson, Rochester, NY; JoAnn Johns, Monon; and son Jim Thacker, Elkins Park, PA and is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Don and son John. She was an accomplished artist and photographer, loved dancing and jazz, and traveled to more than 40 countries. Dorothy was an active member of the Fairview Presbyterian Church and delivered Meals on Wheels. There will be a memorial service in early spring.
