Betty Joan Ward, 81, of Reynolds died at home at 9:55 pm, Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born November 20, 1933 in Valparaiso to the late Walter and Carrie (Stowers) Brown. She attended Fair Oaks High School. Her marriage was to David J. Ward on June 11, 1973 at the Wolcott Baptist Church in Wolcott. He survives. She attended the Reynolds Baptist Church and worked as a healthcare aid. Betty enjoyed working on word search puzzles and playing rummikub. She also liked to read. Along with her husband, she is also survived by a daughter, Debra Hurlburt of Monon; 4 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchilren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Marsha Gottschalk, a granddaughter, Brittney; 3 brothers, Glenn, Russell, and Tommy Brown; a sister, Mary Kinkaid. Friends may call from 1:00 pm (EST) until time of service at 3:00 pm (EST), Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Clapper Family Funeral Home of Monon with Pastor David Vanaman of the Otterbein Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to David Ward.
