John W. Brunner, 73 of Burns Harbor, Indiana, formerly of Wolcott, passed away at 6:30 pm, on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. He was born November 30, 1941, in Lafayette to the late Robert Brunner and Ruth Provo. John graduated from Wolcott High School in 1959. He worked most of his career as a professional driver and several years for Burns Harbor Township. He also served on Burns Harbor town board. John enjoyed spending time with his family and playing his collection of 45's. Surviving is long time companion and sweetheart, Jeaneanne Szymoniak; mother Ruth Provo; son Glenn Brunner (wife Heidi) of Denver, Colorado, a daughter Shawn Skafte of Valparaiso, IN. Siblings, James Provo of Logansport, IN; Marry Provo of Wolcott. Also surviving are grandchildren Seth, Evelyn, and Colin Brunner. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Brunner and Henry Provo. Friends and family may call from 11:00 am until time of service at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Foster-Clapper Funeral Home of Wolcott with Rev. Sarah Gengler officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
