John Allen Dieter, 50 of Kentland, formerly of Lafayette, passed away at 5:50 am CST, on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. He was born June 1, 1964, in Brook to John T. Dieter and the late Janet (Merriman) Dieter. John graduated from South Newton High School in 1982. He went on to earn his associates degree in business administration and a bachelor degree in management at Ball State University. He worked most of his career at Subaru Automotive and finished his career at Purdue University. Surviving with his father John T., is a brother Joe Dieter (wife Mary) of The Colony, Texas, and a sister Jacqueline Winger (husband Terry) of Kentland, and sister-in-law, Pam Dieter of Kentland. John dearly loved his nieces and nephews and thought of them as his own. They are Jason Dieter, Kelli (husband Kyle) Hughes, Jessica Winger, Olivia (husband Jason) Podell, Matthew Winger, Kirsten Dieter, and Katarina Dieter. Great nieces and nephews: Logan, Brayden, Kylli, Konner, Kenna and Carter. John was a big part of our family and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his mother Janet Dieter, and a brother James Dieter. Friends and family may call from 5:00-7:00pm CST, Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Kentland. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM CST, Friday March 6, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Father Robert Bernotas to officiate. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Kentland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Liver Foundation, or to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kentland.
