Sharon L. Young, 70, and long time resident of Chalmers, passed away at 9:23 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015. She was born June 15, 1944 in Washington, Indiana (Daviss County) to the late Clarence and Lena May (Wood) Clymer and was a graduate of Washington High School. Her first marriage was to Joseph Wippel in Indianapolis; they later divorced. She later married Bobby L. Young on December 18, 1971 in the Battle Ground United Methodist Church; he died August 19, 2013. Sharon drove a school bus for the Frontier School Corporation for over 25 years and enjoyed the daily interaction with the kids. Prior to that she worked for Biggs Pump as a secretary and was a homemaker. She liked cooking, crafting in her early years, gardening and feeding her birds and squirrels. She enjoyed traveling with her long time friend and traveling partner, Betty DeVault of Reynolds. Surviving is a daughter, Teresa Yrizarry (John Potter Jr.); a son, Scott Wippel (Amanda Dunn) and three brothers, Billy Jack Clymer (wife: Glenda), John Clymer (wife: Sherry) and Todd Clymer (wife: Cindy) all of Washington, IN. Sharon loved spending time with her family, especially her 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2015 at Hartzler- Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston; Rev. Dr. Lelan D. McReynolds to officiate.
