Norma Lee Marconett-Morrison, 85, of Brookston, formerly of Chalmers, passed away in her home at 8:30 pm, Sunday, November 23, 2014. She was born September 6, 1929 in Robinson, IL to Noah and Mabel (Stowers) Meeks. Norma married Henry J. Marconett in 1946 in Ottawa, Kansas and they had 5 children together. Norma and Henry lived in Northwest Indiana for many years while Henry was an ironworker for the local 379. He preceded her in death in September, 1990. She married Charles Morrison in 1993. Norma and Charles lived in Chalmers and he preceded her in death in September of 1997. After Charles passed away, Norma moved to Brookston. She was a member of the Chalmers Community Church and was a homemaker for many years. She also worked as a technician for CTS of West Lafayette for 17 years before retiring. Norma was a wonderful mother and cherished her time spent with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, traveling with Charlie, and the fellowship shared with friends while attending church. She is survived by four children; Lora Tweedy (husband: Randall), Julie Hughes (husband: Richard), Steven Marconett (wife: Gale), all of Brookston, and Alan Marconett (wife: Erin) of Wolcott; a sister, Mary Kussmaul (husband: Robert) of Battle Ground, and a brother, Pearl Meeks (wife: Judy) of Valparaiso. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death with her parents and husbands are a daughter, Judy Mikels, 5 sisters, and 5 brothers. There will be a committal service at 10 am, Monday, December 1, 2014 at Brookston IOOF Cemetery, followed by an 11 am memorial service at the Chalmers Community Church with Pastor Bill Henderson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chalmers Community Church and St. Elizabeth Hospice.
