Walter A. Jordan, 62, of Remington, died at 11:52 pm, April 7, 2013 at University Hospital of Indianapolis. He was born on April 17, 1951 in Lafayette to Ralph D. and Lizzie (Braaksma) Jordan. Walter was a 1969 graduate of Remington H.S. and went on to graduate from International Business College of Fort Wayne. His marriage was to Luella Minter in August of 2013 and she survives. He was a lifetime resident of Remington and had worked at Von Tobel Lumber of Remington for several years. For the past 18 years, Walter worked for the CDC of Rensselaer, retiring in May of 2013. He enjoyed spending time and playing cards with his family and friends. He made baskets and ceramics and went to many festivals. Surviving with his wife are his children: Michael Jordan (wife: Lora) of Wolcott, and Charlotte Hawkins (husband: Ronnie) of Muncie; his siblings, Rita Jordan of Lafayette, and Ronald Jordan (wife: Cathy) of West Lafayette; and a step-daughter, Denise of Nashville. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death with his parents are a brother, Melvin G. Jordan, and a step-son, John Paul Minter.
