Carolyn Jean Dobbins, 75, of Wolcott, passed away at 1:35 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2013 at George Ade Memorial Health Care Center in Brooke, Indiana. She had been in failing health for quite a while. She was born February 13, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to E. Louise (Plant) Hall and the late Glenn L. Roberts. Her marriage was to Harold I. "Dobbie" Dobbins on August 12, 1982 in the Remington Christian Church. He died May 10, 2005. Carolyn worked for Indiana Ribbon and retired from Dwyer Instrument in Wolcott. She was a faithful member of Palestine Christian Church. Mom had wonderful zest for life with a beautiful smile and had a genuine concern for others. She loved to cook and entertain for family and friends. She enjoyed flowers and the outdoors where she would fish with Dobbie. Beloved mother of Pam Wolff, Frank Tokar (late: Carol), Brian Tokar, Becky Franklin (husband: Doug) and Don VanTil (wife: Dawn); dear stepmother of Judy Burton (husband: Steve) and Mark Dobbins (wife: Jackie); cherished daughter of Louise Hall; dearest sister of Glenn Roberts (wife: Linda) and Dennis Roberts (late: Sharon). Carolyn loved spending time with her family, especially her 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and her great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews cousins and friends. Private memorial services with interment to be handled at a later date in Remington Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her memory to the Palestine Christian Church and may be mailed to the family at PO Box 434 Remington, Indiana 47977.
