Ruth Ann White, 72, of West Lafayette, passed away peacefully at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at St. Elizabeth East of Lafayette. She was born May 20, 1941 in Lafayette to the late Wilmer Earl and Mary Loretta (Foster) Sutton. She graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School. Her marriage was to Robert B. White on April 28, 1978 at Christ Memorial Temple in Lafayette. He survives. Ruth Ann was a member of Christ Memorial Temple for 41 years and was active in the Bus Ministry, Women's Auxiliary and bookkeeping. She was a homemaker and raised her family on a small farm south of Lafayette. She lived a simple life and always spoke of family and God and how important it is to love and be loved. She never believed in saying "goodbye." Her life was God, her grandchildren and talking with her friends. She enjoyed sweet tea, The Weather Channel, Sheriff Andy Taylor on The Andy Griffith Show and The Golden Girls. She also enjoyed Sunday dinners after church with her family. Surviving with her husband Robert of Lafayette are two children; Donald Keith White (wife: Candice Sue Drake) of Brookston and Holly Ann Erwin (husband: Frank) of Colfax and three step-children; Ben White (wife: Linda) of Auburn, Kentucky, Rex White and April White both of Portland, Tennessee. Also surviving are her five grandchildren whom she adored and was very proud of; Ceira Jordon, Brooklyn Marie and Grant Michael White and Kendra and Kaela Erwin and several step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Christ Memorial Temple (3801 Union Street, Lafayette, IN 47905). Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2013 also at Christ Memorial Temple with Pastor Jordan Parnell and Pastor Raymond E. Parnell officiating. Interment to follow at Brookston Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in her name to Christ Memorial Temple.
