Virginia Schoner, 89, formerly of Monon, died at 1:00 a.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital of Downers Grove, Illinois. She was born July 17, 1923 in Chalmers to the late Robert and Ida (Stinson) Danner. She graduated from Monon High School in 1941. Her marriage was to Curtis K. Wilson on April 5, 1942 in Monon. He preceded her in death in 1980. She then married Dale L. Schoner on November 14, 1981 in Monon. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2012. She lived in the Monon/White County area and Ft. Myers Florida most of her life, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monon. Virginia worked for the United States Postal Service for thirty years and retired as the Monon Postmaster. Surviving are two daughters; Jacklyn S. Wilson of Tallahassee, Florida and Donna L. Minnich (husband: Earl) of Westmont, Illinois, three step-children; Richard Schoner (wife: Debbie) of Niles, Michigan, Dalthea "Corky" Coughlin of Portage, Michigan and Cherylee Schoner of Mishawaka, Indiana, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Clapper Family Funeral Home of Monon with Pastor Steve Birch officiating.
