Dallas E. Paugh Jr., 62, of Brookston, passed away at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at IU Health Hospital of Lafayette. He was born May 14, 1949 in Crawfordsville to the late Dallas E. Paugh Sr. and Angie Lyons (Cooksey-Paugh). He graduated from Frontier High School in 1968. He served in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1975. He had lived in Brookston for most of his life. Dallas was a member of the American Legion of Chalmers. He worked for Bailey Trucking of Frankfort as a truck driver for over 25 years and had also owned the Brookston IGA with his father. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching John Wayne movies, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Surviving are his three children, Debra E. Paugh of Lafayette, Cynthia J. Sanders (husband: Jason) of Brookston, and Chris J. Paugh of Lafayette; a sister, Roxana McIntosh of Brookston; grandchildren, Skylar Smith, Jayla Teel, and Wyatt Sanders; and a niece, Kelsey McIntosh. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Karen Ann Paugh and Marie Paugh. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m., Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Funeral Service at 11 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2012 also at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Lelan McReynolds to officiate. Interment to follow in Brookston Cemetery.
