Carolyn Joyce (Gabbard) Tye, 78, of Morocco, died Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka, Illinois. She was born September 15, 1933 in Pineville, Kentucky to the late Daniel and Mossie (Asher) Gabbard. Her marriage was to Robert R. Tye on July 30, 1954 in Pineville, Kentucky. He preceded her in death in 2003. Carolyn lived in Naples, Florida for ten years and Ypsilanti, Michigan for twenty-five years prior to moving to Kentland. She worked as an Elementary School Teacher for thirty-one years, and enjoyed reading and traveling. Surviving are three daughters, Leta Cupp (husband: Chuck) of Morocco, Julia Ware (husband: Daniel) of Ormond Beach, Florida, Melissa K. Tye of Naples, Florida, one son, Daniel Tye (wife: Patricia) of Gregory, Michigan, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. (CST) until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. (CST) Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Kentland with Rev. Larry Schuringa officiating.
