Robin L. Campbell, 59, of Redford, Michigan, died unexpectedly while sleeping, Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 1:15 p.m. at her mother's home in Brookston, Indiana. She had been in failing health for several years. She was born March 11, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Bert W. Campbell and her mother Virginia T. (Campbell) Matteson. Robin was a 1970 graduate of St. Agatha High School in Redford, Michigan and went on to graduate from Michigan State University in English and Soil Sciences. After graduation she went to work for the State of Michigan Environmental Agency, where she worked until becoming ill. Robin loved animals and enjoyed gardening and handiwork projects. Surviving with her mother are two sisters, Pat and Sue Campbell, both of Lincoln Hills, California and a brother, Mike Campbell (wife: Patty) of Denver, Colorado. A memorial service will be held for family and friends at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston; Rev. Dr. Lelan D. McReynolds to officiate. Memorials may be made to "Canine Partners of the Rockies", a service dog organization for the disabled. Preceding her in death is her father, Bert Campbell and a step-father, Doctor Richard Matteson.
