Jerry D. Gerrich, 66, of Kentland, went to be with the Lord at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at his home. He was born November 16, 1944 in Brook to the late Charles W. and Dorothy Coffey Gerrich. He attended high school in Kentland. His marriage was to Patricia J. Sampson on January 10, 1964. She survives. He worked for Lehman Mfg. in Kentland for 37 years as plant manager and retired at the end of 2006. He loved working in the yard, auto and home repair, working on his computer, fishing, and going to car shows. He loved his family and friends. He is survived by a brother, James L. Gerrich (wife: Krys) of Springfield, Ohio. Also surviving are nieces, Christy Frasier, Tammy Gerrich, Shirley Clark, Angie Dalton, Benita Eason, Christy, and a nephew, Steve Gerrich. Other family include: Misty, Donica, Keith, Shawn, Daniele, Megan, Josh, Camilly, Sydney, AJ, Sidney, Sophie, Shelby and Avie Marie. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Ann, two sisters, Judy Eason and Sandra Wise, and a brother, Robert Gerrich. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. (CDT) Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home of Kentland. Services will be held there at 11 a.m. (CDT) Wednesday, July 6 with Rev. Marcia Smith-Wood officiating. Interment to follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
