Lela N. Carr, 91, of Lafayette, died at 2:48 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at St. Anthony Health Care of Lafayette. She was born November 3, 1919 in Green Hill to the late Edgar and Lavinia (Biddle) Watkins. She graduated from Otterbein High School. Her marriage was to Vernon G. Carr on April 6, 1943 in Sparta, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2008. Lela and Vernon lived in Otterbein until 1965 when they moved to Monticello. She later moved to Lafayette She retired from Hively Pharmacy where she worked as a clerk for several years. Lela was an avid reader and was a member of Monticello Moose where she held several chair positions. Surviving are three daughters, Jane Price, Nancy Richardson (husband: Dan) and Carol Steill (husband: Stan) all of Lafayette, one brother, Bob Watkins and one sister, Georgia Watkins both of Lafayette. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 infant daughters, 5 sisters, 2 brothers, 2 grandsons, Willie Steill and Skip Price, and a son-in-law Butch Price. Private graveside service being held.
