James D. Dieter, 51, of Kentland, IN died unexpectedly at 12:26 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital of Watseka, IL. He was born on December 17, 1959 in Brook, IN to John T. Dieter and Janet Merriman. He graduated from South Newton High School in 1978. His marriage was to Pamela M. Pitstick on October 4, 1980 at St. John in Earl Park, IN. She survives. James lived in Kentland all his life. He worked at Viskase of Kentland for 24 years and also worked 2 years at S&S Plastic in Kentland as a maintenance supervisor. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls, and Chicago Bears. He also enjoyed riding motor cycles. Surviving with his wife are his two children, Jason Dieter of Kentland and Kelli Hughes (Kyle) of Flora, IN; two brothers, Joe Dieter (Mary) of The Colony, TX and John A. Dieter of Lafayette; and a sister, Jacqueline Winger (Terry) of Kentland. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Logan Dieter, Brayden Hughes, and Kylli Hughes.
