Laura M. Hoover, 89, of Monon, died at 10:05 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. She had been in failing health for quite a while. She was born October 14, 1921 to the late M. Elmer and Cleo S. (Mellender) Hoover and attended Monon Schools. She was a lifelong resident of White County, mostly of Monon. Mrs. Hoover was a member of the Monon United Methodist Church. She was a production worker for Bryan Manufacturing in Monticello for 31 years. She enjoyed fill-in crossword puzzles and was a great cook. Surviving are her sisters, Ida Bulington and Hazel Hoover both of Monon and Millie Bunton (husband: Bill) of Michigan City, Indiana. Laura loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are two brothers, Lewis W. and Arthur L. Hoover. Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2011 at Clapper Family Funeral Home of Monon; Pastor Russ Alley to officiate. Interment to follow in the Monon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Monon United Methodist Church.
