Leone (Scifert) Hutson, 91, of Brookston, IN, died at home surrounded by family in Winston-Salem, NC on Thursday, November 18, 2010. She had been hospitalized for several weeks with pneumonia which complicated a lung disease that she had suffered for the last several years. She was born July 26, 1919 in Wolcott, IN to the late Frank "Dade" and Verne (Garvin) Scifert. She graduated from Wolcott HS in 1937. After high school, she graduated from beautician's school in Lafayette, IN. She married Ross F. Hutson of Brookston, IN on January 10, 1942. Their marriage spanned 50 years. Her husband Ross, passed away in January 1992. Leone's crowning achievements in her life were her love and devotion to her husband and family and the raising of her three children. She is survived by a twin sister, Lorene Williams of Winston-Salem, NC, a sister, Stella Tartar of Pittsburg, PA, and a son, Larry (wife: Judy) of Carmel, IN. Preceding her in death were daughter, Debra, 57, in 2008 and son, Alan (wife: Susie),61, in 2009. Also surviving are her Grandchildren: Christina Stilts (husband: Don), Andrew, Tony (wife: Emily), Kelly and Sarah Hutson, and three Great Grandchildren. Family and friends may call from 1-3 P.M., Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Hartzler- Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston, IN. Service there will follow at 3 P.M. with interment at Tippecanoe Memorial Gardens in W. Lafayette, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charlevoix Senior Center of Charlevoix, MI.
