Kimberly Anne Alcantar, 47, of Monon, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 at her residence. She was born January 12, 1963 in Chicago Heights, IL to the late Arthur Frederick Garrett, Jr. and Carol Anne St. Pierre Garrett. Her marriage was to Jose Alcantar, and they have been married for 22 years. Mrs. Alcantar was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, recipes, shopping, especially QVC and Avon. She loved her family dearly and was proud to live in Monon for 20 years. Surviving with her husband are two children, Carol Garrett (husband: Michael Hughes) of Peru, IN, and Eldon Garrett, Sr. (wife: Misty) of Chebanse, IL, her sister and best friend, Marilyn Jeanene Garrett Thomson, 2 other sisters, Carol and Amy Garrett, and 2 brothers, Arthur and William Garrett. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren. Private family service will be held. Clapper Family Funeral Home in Monon in charge of arrangements.
