Romana L. Sego, 82, of Kentland, died at 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, at George Ade Memorial Health Care, Brook. Born Jan. 18, 1928, in Kentland, she was the daughter of the late Meddie and Romana Cunningham Sego. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated from A.J. Kent High School in 1946. Ms. Sego worked at Kenny's Pharmacy and Newton County Enterprise prior to working at Sears in Kentland and West Lafayette for 35 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kentland, Women's Society, 4-H, and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed listening to Chicago Cubs and Purdue women's basketball games. Surviving are five sisters, Mary Kay Anstett (husband: Harold), Theresa and Lorraine Sego, all of Kentland, Alice Silver (husband: Bill), and Martha Gretencord (husband: Bill) of Fowler. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Patricia Sego; 22 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Tom Sego and Monsignor Arthur Sego; a sister, Jeanette Vouglund; a niece and a nephew. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. (CDT) Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home in Kentland, where a Rosary service will be held at 4:15 p.m. (CDT). Funeral Mass 11 a.m. (CDT) Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kentland, Fr. Robert Bernotas officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Kentland. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Romana to St. Joseph Catholic Church or George Ade Memorial Health Care. Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home in Kentland is in charge of arrangements.
