Monell Dean "Mosey" Hurley, age 48, of Monon, died at 10:13 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at his residence. He was born October 9, 1961 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Russell and Sadie Hawkins Hurley and attended Michigan City High School. He has lived in Monon the past 15 years, after moving from Michigan City, Indiana. He was a member of Monon Community Church He worked for Wal-Mart and Monon Trailer. Monell enjoyed camping. Surviving is his companion of 20 years, Virginia Gourley, a daughter; Trisha Ann Hurley, a son; Cody Phelps all of Monon; two sisters, Shirley Hurley Gunter and Mary Jaggers (husband: Jerry) of Michigan City and two Brothers, Ronnie Hurley and David Hurley (wife: Debra) also of Michigan City. Preceding him in death is a sister, Pricilla Pippins; 3 brothers, William, Russell and Darrell Hurley and a nephew, DeWayne Fisher. Friends may call from 12 p.m. (noon) until the time of memorial service at 2 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2010 at Monon Community Church; Pastor Don Newman to officiate.
