Viola M. Kyburz, 95, of Francesville, formerly of Wolcott, died at 12:35 a.m., Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer. Born September 19, 1914 in Seafield, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Sophia Oberlander Klopfenstein. She attended school in Seafield. Her marriage was to Edward H. Kyburz, Sr. on December 24, 1932 in Monticello. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1986. She was a member of the Wolcott Apostolic Christian Church and World Relief. Mrs. Kyburz helped her husband on the farm and was a cook at various restaurants within the community. Viola enjoyed flowers, gardening, mending, sewing and spending time with her family. Surviving is a son, Paul H. Kyburz (wife: Carol) of Otterbein; a brother, Levi "Bud" Klopfenstein of Monticello; and a sister, Wilma Knapp of Goodfield, Illinois. Also surviving is a daughter-in-law, JoAnn Kyburz of Wolcott, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death is a son, Edward S. Kyburz Jr., a daughter, Marcille J. Furrer, 2 brothers, 6 sisters, and a grandchild. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Foster-Clapper Funeral Home of Wolcott and 1 hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Wolcott Apostolic Christian Church.
