Effie Harrington, 97, of Brookston, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010 in her residence. Born August 2, 1912 in Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Ava Gillenwater Wells. She was a 1930 graduate of Packwood High School in Iowa. Her marriage was to Glenn Harrington in 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1998. Effie and Glenn made their home in Packwood moving to Phoenix, AZ in 1953, then to Albuquerque in 1998 and to Brookston in 2004. Effie and Glenn ran the family business, Phoenix Poultry & Egg Co. from 1979-1996. Surviving is her son, Robert Harrington (wife: Pat) of Brookston; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death is a son, Michael Harrington.
