John E. Wilson, 36, of Monon, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis as a result of a truck/train accident near Monon. Born August 2, 1973 in Rensselaer, he was the son of John F. Wilson and Mary L. Caps Wilson Willoughby. He attended North White High School. Mr. Wilson worked for Mosher Tree Service for the past 3 years. He lived for and loved fishing and the outdoors. Surviving is his son, Dustin Wilson, of Monon; his father, John F. Wilson of Niles, MI; his mother and step-father, Mary and Bob Willoughby of Monon; step-father, Russ Linson (wife: Cathy) of Yeoman; his brothers, Terry Ballard of Lafayette, Gary Ballard (wife: Amy) of Monon, Tony Wilson (wife: Shannon) and Shane Wilson, both of Warsaw, Terry Wilson of Galien, MI; his sisters, Shi-Ann Wilson of Mentone and Tammy Blount of Monon; and his maternal grandfather, Murrell Lock of Monon. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death is his maternal grandmother, June Lock; and paternal grandparents, Eugene and Gloria Wilson. Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Clapper Family Funeral Home in Monon. Services there Monday, March 15, 2010 at 12 p.m. (noon). Minister Greg Birge to officiate. Interment will follow in Bedford Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in memory of John to the Dustin Wilson Trust Fund.
