Roger Keith Danner, 71, of Chalmers, died at 2:05 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2009 in his residence. He had been in failing health for the last 5 years. He was born September 8, 1937 in White County to the late Claude R. Danner and Laura E. (Harris) Danner, who still survives. He was a 1955 graduate of Chalmers High School. His marriage was to Kay Y. Meier on April 19, 1959 at St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds. She survives. Mr. Danner farmed and raised hogs and cattle for many years. He then worked for Sare-Collins Feed Mill in Brookston. Lastly, he worked for the White County Highway Department for 14 years. He enjoyed fishing and horses. Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Melissa L. Danner (companion: Gary Riddle) and a son, Christopher K. Danner (wife: Susan) all of Chalmers; two brothers, Gordon Danner (wife: Donna) of Lafayette and Wayne Danner of Chalmers; and a sister, Carole Kerr of Brookston. Roger loved spending time with his grandchildren Amara, Jordan and Blake. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Service there 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Rev. Charles Blakey to officiate. Interment to follow at St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery.
