Lela L. Dyer, 89, of Brookston, died at 11:17 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette. She was born July 18, 1919 in Frankfort to the late George M. and Della (Ostler) Rhodes. Her marriage was to Clarence Leo Dyer on August 26, 1951. He died October 18, 1986. Mrs. Dyer worked for Brown Rubber for many years and then the Indiana Veterans Home in the laundry department until retiring in the mid 1980's. She was a member of the Women of the Moose #1534 in Monticello, the BUNKO club of Delphi and the Friendship Club. She loved playing BINGO and enjoyed doing crafts. Surviving are many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death with her husband and parents are 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston. Rev. Joe Hornick to officiate. Interment to follow in Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort.
