Patricia D. "Pat" Redmon, 68, of Monon, died at 9:10 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2008 in her residence. She had been in poor health since January of this year. She was born April 20, 1940 in Valparaiso, Indiana to the late Roy and Edna (Carr) Ludington. She attended Valparaiso High School. Her marriage was to Joe D. Redmon on March 7, 1942 in Valparaiso, Indiana. He died October 3, 2003. Mrs. Redmon and her husband owned and operated Gibbs Food & Spirits in Monon for many years until 1996. She then was a waitress for Mama Connie's Restaurant in Monticello until retiring. She was a longtime member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary in Monon Aerie #2788. Pat was a real people person and loved her interaction with customers she waited on. It was overheard more than once that she was the "best waitress in the county". Surviving are her sons; Russell Redmon (wife: Nancy) of Monon and Steve Redmon of Bridgeman, Michigan; a brother, Max Ludington of Valparaiso and three sisters; Irene Camp (husband: Tom) of Hindale, Illinois, Wilma Salee of Hobart, Indiana and Rita Cole of Valparaiso. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008 and also from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Clapper Family Funeral Home, Monon. Interment to be private in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Preceding her in death with her parents are 2 brothers Bill and Ralph Ludington and 4 sisters, Myrtle Sexton, Violet McPherson, Lois McGehee and Shirley Heckman.
