Biographical Information:
Clarence Burdell “Bud” Gosman, 93, entered heaven 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013, succumbing to heart and renal failure. Bud was born May 28, 1920 in Monticello to Clarence Raymond and Effie Louise (Burns) Gosman. On December 27, 1942, he married the love of his life, Wilma Josephine (Billie) Turner of Monticello, to whom he was married 69 years. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2012. Following graduation from Monticello High School in 1938, Bud was employed for a time by Bryan Manufacturing and RCA. Bud was a hard worker whose career included owning and operating a Shell station in Monticello, and later working for May Oil Company of Monticello and Crawford Petroleum Company of Delphi selling and distributing Shell Oil petroleum products. He was a member of the Monticello Christian Church and a former deacon. Bud enjoyed fishing, gardening, upholstering, and woodworking, but his greatest joy was being with family. His wish was to be remembered as he was in life, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and a great friend to many.
Mr. Gosman moved to Texas in December 2007 to be close to caring family. Recently, he was a resident at Bishop Davies Nursing Center in Hurst, TX.
