John J. Jansen, 80, of Monticello, IN  passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024.  He was born in Hobart, IN on May 31, 1943.  

He proudly served his nation in the United States Air Force.  He served during the Vietnam War.  John retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service.  

John was the best damn crappie fisherman there was, and he took pride in cleaning and selling his catches.  

He was the best father he could be for his children.  John was a loving father and grandpa.  He will be missed by many.  

He is survived by his two sons:  Eric Jansen (Keiko), and John Jansen, Jr.; grandchildren:  Cynthia, Kira, Noah, Alisha, Victor, Alex and Chelsea; great grandchildren:  Victoria, Logan and Olivia.
